The planet is our home; we need to be more responsible. Here's what I do.

Installing a new hive

We’ve been asked to set up a hive in a new location.

We’ve got some bees (but that part comes later) bad need to create a home for them.

First step

We inspected the whole site and thought about how it would be used. We prefer hives to be approached without being on a thoroughfare.

We found a great spot between two apple trees.

Positioning the hive

We placed a stand and needed to ensure the entrance faces roughly South.

Then we wanted to secure the hive base between two prices of wood.

The stand was folded flat for transportation so we tightened the bolts.

Securing the hive

We transported the whole lot in our wee smart car, surprisingly.

And now it’s ready for the bees to move in.
