We’ve got plenty of stuff. We even did a declutter month in February which barely scrapped the surface.
So one thin I really like is gifts that involve participation rather than ownership.
We’ve just redeemed a voucher for a chocolate treat. It’s one of those gift boxes where you can choose where to go and when and then have in this case a chocolate treat.
We try to use them to go somewhere we haven’t been before.
So our chocolate treat took us to a place in Leiden called Elleni.
It had a good menu that mentioned both vegetarian and gluten free options.
Our chocolate treat was a fruit fondue and brownies with two rounds of drinks. It was a really nice afternoon out.
Nothing to store or make houseroom for and a lovely time.
How do you deal with giving and receiving gifts?

Felt depressed at the idea of decluttering (it’s going to be a big job) but you cheered me up with the picture of fruit and chocolate. Seems like the ideal gift to me.

Yes. Start small. Just one drawer or one shelf. Start smaller. The month was one item the first day, two on the second, three on the third….

I will start when I get back home from work. It doesn’t sound difficult like this.

It got very rewarding indeed. Honest. And I was very reluctant to start with.

I’ll start as soon as I get back home and see if I can turn it into an agreeable habit. 😉
