The planet is our home; we need to be more responsible. Here's what I do.
I’m fascinated by magazines that you see on planes. I recently had to fly for work and caught sight of the in flight read.
It’s a conundrum how can an in flight magazine be environmentally aware?
But my interest lies in the stories with an environmental flavour. I have a theory that if they are covering environmental things then maybe the masses will be more aware and if the masses are becoming more aware then maybe such magazines will be more interested in covering green things. Crazy I know.
So on this particular flight I spotted an article about cycling royalty in Europe. The Dutch, of course, came up top trumps.
The contrast is clear. I live in an are where the Dutch royal family have a residence. They are found of green spaces and do use their bikes. When president Obama was here last year for some flash summit the Dutch prime minister famously arrived by bike rather than helicopter.
Wouldn’t it be great to see more public figures adopting greener habits?
