The planet is our home; we need to be more responsible. Here's what I do.
I like to think I’m not generally one to rant but today is going to have to be an exception.
I travel a lot. I eat a lot. I like food. But I don’t eat meat.
Twice in the last twenty four hours I’ve been told, when asking what the hot food vegetarian option is, that there isn’t one but that I
can eat the salad.
Expletives don’t cover it.
People cannot live by cucumber and tomato alone.
The reason why it’s additionally frustrating is that we are at a sports event with four hundred young people.
They devoured today’s spaghetti in tomato sauce like vultures. They didn’t touch the beef.
They didn’t do it for veggie reasons. It was their preference.
So meat free options aren’t exclusive to meat free people.
I said is there a vegetarian option. They said:
Like I’d invented the idea. The planet is doomed. I’m in a hotel which changes the sheets every day unless you ask them not to. They claim to be green. What a joke.
What is wrong with these people?
It’s a rant.
(I’m in a European country in a chain hotel. Should I name and shame? )
