The planet is our home; we need to be more responsible. Here's what I do.

Allotment Plan: April

the mountain I mentioned the other day has another important level thus weekend.

The sun is shining!

The plan includes the following:

Seed Potatoes

It’s time for the spuds that we chitted to go in the ground.

As you can see they have fine  sprouts pushing through. They’ve been sitting out of direct light on trays in the spare room for several weeks.

We can transfer them to the plot.

There are some more broad beans that can be planted out now too.

Meanwhile we need to soak some peas so we can start them too.

The corn is now about 30cms (12 inches) high. So we are thinking about putting it in the ground protected by a cloche as its been very mild but could still go a little colder.

More seedlings

Courgettes, beans, soya beans and parsnips can be preped for indoor sowing.

The beetroot, carrots, runner beans, and a few other things can go in at the allotment.

The cabbage family can be transferred to bigger pots. We have sprouts, purple sprouting brocolli, kohl rabi and kale.

That’s a busy weekend and we need to finish spraying the new three wheel box bike too.

What are your gardening plans for the weekend?
