A sign of the times 

there was an election in The Netherlands yesterday. Not for politicians but for the waterschap algemeen bestuur. Now be aware that if you spell it wrong you get water sheep as translation. 

The election is about the water board. Perhaps curious thing to vote about but water is important to the Dutch. 

A significant proportion of our country is underwater. Well would be. It’s below sea level. 

For so many people it’s s case of turning the tap and out comes the water, we wash with it, cook with it, drink it. 

The idea of voting for it is new to me but very thought provoking. 

I wonder whether voting for water will be something more countries doin the future.
