Giant Strawberry

This has to be one of the biggest strawberries I’ve ever seen.

On the pack it says ‘hand picked with care’ in Spain.

You’d need big hands.

There was twelve in the packet. Blimey. Giant strawberries. What is the world coming to?

I grew up with the pick ones in the US, but the smaller ones we get in the UK taste a lot more like fruit.

I think we had some of those too – huge! One strawberry is a dessert!

We’ve been getting these for the little one, but I find them very hard and not very sweet. Bred for travelling, not taste…. Can’t wait for the proper ones from the garden and allotment!

Huge, but did it have any taste? I tend to only eat strawberries in season as the rest that our supermarkets sell usually are tasteless 😦 x

We get quite big ones in Australia but they are nowhere near as sweet as the little ones. It’s all to do with marketing. And now that I’ve got your attention I have a few things to say about bees and Monsanto on http://wp.me/s5rgVm-bees
