The planet is our home; we need to be more responsible. Here's what I do.

I don’t believe it

Victor Meldrew is a fictional TV charachmter who was probably the original grumpy old man.

Not necessarily an environmentalist though he was a big fan of using very small towels.

I had a Meldrew moment this week at work when I saw this:

plastic fork

annoying cutlery

What the fork!

Ah but it’s not a fork. It’s a piece of plastic!

Grrrrrrrrrrrr!

It’s pretending to be a fork.

Hiding it’s dirty little secret. Single use disposable items. What a pain!

Why make it look real when it’s not real. Just waiting to join the landfill or the queue to the incinerator.

Or end up as litter in the ocean or countryside.

Things like this really frustrate me. Is there a disposable item that irritates you?

True enough. I carry a spork in my bag for emergencies now. Or at least a teaspoon.

My Daughter was thrilled as she finally got her place of work to recycle and not throw out all the 1100 pieces of plastic used for meals. That is her third success for more green living at her job

That’s fantastic. We are about to get separated rubbish sorted out. It would be preferable for us to have reusable stuff more though!
