Simple changes

I’m often asked about being greener. Many people think it’s hard to lead a greener life.

I recently came across this simple sign. It’s got ten really good ideas for small improvements.

Several of them will also save money turning off your computer at night saves enough energy to drive a short journey in a small car.

I’ve never understood why people leave lights on in empty rooms. These days unless you’re coming straight back there’s no benefit to leaving them on. I equate it to leaving taps running. A light switch is another way of pouring energy away.

It’s often said but if everyone did this type of simple thing then the bigger impact would be massive.

I’ve never figured out whether my printer can handle both sides of the page, but I do print a lot of stuff on the back of used paper. Why not?

I use one side of paper, then my children use the other side. Some of their best artwork has been on the back of a shopping list.

One of my main reasons for going veggie was the impact of meat farming on the environment.

We do most of these, but still eat meat.
It is true that if everyone did just a little bit, it would make a huge difference.

Pleased to see I do most of those things! Though there’s no chance of me going vegetarian 🙂 I also use those damn energy bulbs. They might save money and energy, but when you’re showering and doing your make-up in semi-darkness, they SUCK.

It’s choosing tights in the dark that frustrates me.

And most of mine are 120-200 denier black ones at the moment so that makes them even harder to see 😉

It’s a challenge. Mind you could put tights over your head instead of bothering with make up and then the colour wouldn’t matter either, I guess.

Ha, I don’t think anyone in Berlin would give me a second glance either 🙂 Until I got to the school that is 😉

I’m doing most suggestions from this list. There are just some I cannot forego.
