What’s bugging me?

Gardening has so many celebrities; the flowers, the fruit and the veg!

But there’s also the bugs. I’ve been chasing a few down with my new macro lens for the trusty phone.

I keep trying to take good shots of these lovely creatures but since I got a macro lens they’ve become more elusive, particularly the one that was jewel coloured. This little brown fella was reluctant to stay still.

Then meanwhile there’s the
something lurking in the fronds of the asparagus plants.

Colourful monster!

The earwig that came home with us was a tricky subject too.

I got busy with the macro lens and the echinacea too.

And then there were the raspberries.

You need a good pot of glue for insects.

Not that great. I need to keep practicing. My bee pictures are better.

Ah yes, we find bees can be quite accommodating and are willing to linger a while ๐Ÿ™‚

They also like flowers so stay still on them.

The photos may not be “great” (YOUR word) – but I am impressed. It takes steady hands (or tripod) and a mountain of patience to get any small creature. The little dude on the mirror is doubly nice ๐Ÿ™‚
