A tribute to the Wombles: living in the 1970s

For some reason WordPress iOS is being funny about scheduling and drafting posts. So a post that I drafted last week hasn’t appeared at the top of the blog. I’ve tried to fix it to no avail so here’s a link instead.

Happy Days!

    I loved the Wombles!!

And to make it quite clear: I have a child who wore terry towelling nappies (2006-2008 – she self-toilet trained aged 21 months, which I put down to the nappies meaning she didn’t want to be lazy about soiling her drawers) and we have never needed a tumble drier. Even in winter, unless it is pelting with rain, washing does dry outside. Recently exchanged a rotary line for a normal line as it decreases drying time. And is less of an eyesore.

That’s fantastic. I’m glad that some of those things are still around. Given that disposable nappies are constantly bring made more tolerable so that children don’t stop wearing them it’s a battle. It’s true that washing will dry. Our rotary has a cover that keeps showers off too.
