Bye, baby Bunting,
Daddy’s gone a-hunting,
Gone to get a rabbit skin
To wrap the baby Bunting in.[1]
A short craft moment as it’s Tuesday and the Sewing bee is on again!
When my friend announced she was pregnant we decided to have a picnic.
Then we thought of something clever to create at the event.
A bunting
I went to the local second hand shop and found some lovely vintage, striped pillowcases. I did some stealth research into colour scheme plans.
I got the pinking shears out. One large european pillowcase made more than thirty triangles.
I ordered bias binding on line.
I found fabric paint and embroidery thread and buttons. And bought some brushes.
At the picnic, we had flag shaped triangles for each person. They could sew or paint a momento.
We gathered on the day and did our bit. All ages chipped in. There was much friendly competition and modest denial of ability.
The result!
